OK how to free stuck rings. I may have some in the virago ... I'd rather get it free now than try to start it and realise the things are stuck ... bike sat for years and had goo in carbs ... Maybe rings dont ... cos valves were carboned out and had no goo ... But Just in case ...
Cool.

On my old dirtbike, I squirted some PB Blaster into the cyl's. Lots of it if you have to.. I would rotate it arround and let it sit, then try and crank em w/ a wrench.. repet.. over, and over, and over.. then.. ping :) I had a ring break.. but it was no big deal :)
I have turned the motor over while doing valves ... turns over just fine ...

This stuff works great as a gas additive http://www.seafoamsales.com/motorTuneUpTechGas.htm. Never tried it to free stuck rings but it seems to be a good product. I dump some in my cage's gas tank every so often. There is quite a bit of info if you google it and see what other peeps say. It can be used in gas, oil, or pour in a vacuum line, depending on what you want to accomplish.
Edit, NAPA sells it around here.
OK I have used seafoam before ... I will pick some up today ... also available as a spray ... should get that too ... My guys are all suggesting how to remove it when its outside ... no one knows what if its still assembled ... ...
Cool.

Stuck rings are a pretty common problem with the original S-series Saturns. One way to tackle them was a piston soak with marvel mystery oil. Pull the plugs, pour some MMO in, and let it sit overnight. Suck whatever's left out and see what happens.
Another option would be to try Auto-RX in the oil, though it'll take 2,000 miles of riding to see if it works.

remove the plugs--- couple of good squirts of 3 in 1 oil. turn it over slowly a few times to spread it out, let it sit for a while and repeat. it will foul the plugs quickly and smoke alot when started but should stop after a few minutes
Yea one guy here suggested 1 part wd40, 1 part motor oil and one part trans fluid ... or brake fluid ... Evidently that is MMO - though its got kerosene from the smell ... but mix it all together who knows what it'll smell like ... 99% my rings are not gummed up with varnish ... cos the valves had carbon and not varnish ...
