Title: Restrictor Kit
Post by: LesleyMcLean82 on June 30, 2005, 02:17:17 PM
I know everyone wants to make their bikes more tuned up and faster but.......................

Does anybody know the dimensions of the 33bhp restrictor kit for the GS 500?  I have recently passed my test on a 125cc and bought a GS500. I have a certificate showing the bike is restricted but the previous owner de-restricted the bike and has lost the part.  So I'm looking at making one and installing it.

Thanks

Lesley

Here's someone on BikeChat offering his old GS500e restrictor free last week:
http://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?p=557298&sid=ed182d5c581c12ae615536a0d5ab50f6#557298

If that's spoken for, you could post on gs500e.co.uk, and see if someone has removed theirs and could send it to you.

I read that shops charge 150 pounds or so to install, but the the parts cost about 60.

(I just googled)

I found this:

http://www.fiinternational.com/Restrictors.asp

They have one listed for the GS

But:

NOTE: Restrictor kits can only be fitted by an approved and qualified dealer. Fitting also registers the restriction into the FI International master database and this will generate a certificate that you will recieve as proof of restriction.
