Title: GS500F Repair Manual
Post by: Phaedrus on July 01, 2005, 04:29:59 PM
I would like to purchase the repair manual for my bike through GSTwin.com, however, I am not sure if it will work. It lists GS500 up to 2002. I know the "F" has some minor changes..oil cooler, fairing obviously..

But anything else? Would it be worth it for me to get? I don't want the manual for anything fancy. Just some basics so I can try and do some routine stuff myself..oil changes, tune ups, brakes, etc.

Should I get it or wait for a 2004+ manual to come out?

It's mostly the same bike, except for the oil cooler, throttle position sensor, a coupld other sensors I forget, the larger carbs, and everything related to the fairings and headlamp.

i.e. 95% the same and 5% common sense.

I bought a GS500F-specific OEM service manual from my dealer. It was $55 and is hard to come by because they go to shops before the public. Mine is still on backorder.
