Title: Seat needed, please help
Post by: Zhenya13 on July 02, 2005, 01:37:47 PM
Hi

I broke my seat yesterday and need to buy a new one asap. Can some one tell me if a pointy seat for models 89-00 will fit onto the 2002 model.

There are always seats available on E-bay, but rarely the one for 02 model. Most of them are for the older models and have a pointy end.

If you know of any other place that sells seat for the 2002 GS let me know please.
Thank you

well I wanted to make it into a gel seat like some people do by adding gell pads into it. But I screwed up when I was cutting the foam and now its like riding on bare plastic

If the pan and cover are undamaged, take it in to a place that does custom motorcycle seats and have them re-make the foam (with the gel pad included, if that's still intact).  It'll probably cost in the same ballpark, and you'll get a comfier seat out of it.

Any one knows of a place where I can get the seat upholstered around Chicago?

Try asking at a local Harley dealership.  Somebody there will probably know of a custom shop that will re-fab seats.
