I did alot of searching on the site first, and found that the best way to go if you want to use full synthetic without any cluth slippage is to get kevlar friction plates. I need to change my clutch assembly anyways, due to my bad shifting skills when i bought the bike, so i decided i want to get kevlar. I heard that barnett makes it, but cant find it anywhere. EBC makes clutch kits, but only the standard cork. If anyone knows as to where i could purchase it, i would i appreciate it.

the part number is TM-7, and you need a qty of 7.

I run full synthetic, with the stock 30,000 mile clutch and no slippage.

Alright, thanks for finding that. You think its hard to install by oneself.
Takes about 1 hour to change a clutch, unless you have to scrap the gasket. And do not forget to get a case cover gasket as well. There are 2 bolts behind the rotor pick-up plate. You can lean the bike to the left instead of draining the oil. Make sure there is not anything in the small passge leading to the oil pressure sensor.

fyi...the GS uses the same clutch as the 99-02 SV650/s but with 7 plates instead of 6.

We do make the friction plates in Kevlar for this model. The part numbers and suggested retail prices are listed below. Our friction materials are compatible with synthetic 'motorcycle specific' oils. We do not recommend the use of automotive oils.
Friction plates: # TM-7 (7 req.- $11 each)
Steel plates: # SP-1-16 (6 req.- $5 each)
Springs: N/A

I want the kevlar friction plates, but what are the steel plates? are those just steel friction plates? is he comparing the price of steel plates to kevalr, or do i need to buy those steel plates to function with the kevlar friction plates. I am confused from this email. haha. Sorry if i am stupid, i just dont get it.

The steel plates go between the friction plates. They do not need to be replaced unless blued due to overheating or warped.
So my stock steel plates dont need to be replaced?
nah, the steal plates really need to get cooked to hurt em. you dont have high enough mileage to really kill them like brake shoes do a rotor. the friction plates wear out first. warpage? yeah, it can happen but again, you really need to cook the damn things for that to happen.

Then you would really risk cooking them.
differnt compounds with the friction plates. The Duc's been using them for some time, there was even a Kit to convert GSXR 750/1000 to dry clutch. my understanding they held up well when correctly installed and maintained.
