Title: spark plug sparks too much... maybe?
Post by: micron64 on July 03, 2005, 06:21:33 PM
the spark plugs seem to spark every time i just touch the starter button, and when i hold it down its nearly a constant spark. way too much spark to be just on the power stroke of the piston. does this mean something? is this right?

You should have sparks on each 1/2 stroke ... aka - not just top of compression stroke also top of exhaust stroke ... so your starter can turn over the motor ~500 rpm. So you'll have 10 or so per second ... making for a pretty continous spark and you got persistence of vision (every one does right - 36 frames per second is seen as smooth continous motion ) ...
Cool.
