Title: magic disappearance of grind sound still bad vibration
Post by: micron64 on July 04, 2005, 10:01:02 PM
the very loud vibration sound that i suspected may have been a loose clutch plate is no longer audible. the vibration didnt change when i pulled in the clutch tho so i dont know what it was. now the bike runs very quiet but in no way smooth, once it gets up to 5,000 rpm it vibrates so bad it feels like my feet are about to fall off the pegs. in any way could this be my horrible carburetor set up? im thinking that it could be something to do with the clutch being off center, warped or something but it still vibrates when the clutch is pulled in. valves? rod? i dont know, what would be a place to start checking?

i took the bike to my friends a few miles away. had no problems getting there as long as i kept it below 5,000 rpm but on the way back it would die every few hundred yards and i would have to wait a few seconds for the carbs to refill with gas, least i think thats what was going on. i should have new carbs on the way.

Are you sure that you're running on both cylinders?  This sounds like it could be electrical.  I know you checked your plugs before, but:
