this one. anybody know what model that is?
I never want to own a Ducati. Maintenance is a Buddha Loves You, from what I've heard and read.
They're also hard-core track bikes, and I'm just not a skillful enough rider to do one justice.
yeah. i wouldn't want to have to do the maintainence on a ducati either. i think i'm definitely a japanese bike guy (or a bmw guy, if i can get the money). but that duc is just so damn gorgeous.

Dream Bike?
The Dodge Tomahawk...
seriously though, probably the 2006 GSX-R1000 in Yellow/Black
That is a Ducati MH 900E, enjoy the pic because you'll never see one in real life(on the street at least). I think they made some insanely small number of them, like 111 or some ridiculousness. Gorgeous though.

The ducati dealer up here in winnipeg has that exact bike. He bought it himself and its showcased in the dealer. Its mint. :thumb:

MH 900E, aka Mike Hailwood 900 evoluzione...
there are a few locally. I always saw one at Rock store and one that had been tossed down the road at the local Ducati dealer...
2000 gsxr 750 in yellow and black, with a fmf pipe.

At the moment.....
Triumph Bonneville
SV1000S
Ducati Monster
Moto Guzzi V11 Le Mans
I can't decide...or really afford one now anyway, but that's beside the point.
Just about anything from the 50's...
60's Euro/English Cafe Racer... or...
70's Japanese Cafe Style...
Or... Maybe a Duc Monster.
:dunno:
Honestly I have two:
VFR 400, oh god this bike is my ALL TIME favorite....
and the second (which would probably happen first if had the money) :

Triumph Thruxton (factory cafe-d bonnie)

or a speed triple....

I don't think you can own a GS500E and not have the Triumph Speed Triple be at least on your top 3 list of wish list bikes. Same basic idea taken to another level entirely all with an engine that could remove tree stumps. I'm getting aroused just thinking about it. I was on a T509 the other week that was a hell of a lot of fun, but that 2005 is amazing. :thumb:
I dunno, the end always looked stubby to me - like it was cut off prematurely. And what I like about the GS is precisely that it has a powerband where I can wring it out a little while still staying legal on the street.

'91 through '96, kinda fuzzy, maybe a '87 GSXR750
'97, Yamaha YZF1000
'98-99 disenchanted
'00 the original Aprilia RSV1000 Mille
'01 same

I agree...it's like those dogs with their tails chopped off.
Maybe a SV1000s, just looked at a leftover new 2003 silver one on Wednesday. $6800 +tax and title. Very tempting.
919, Z750S or that style bike. Something that still has some power but is not that bad to ride.

Call up or check Honda East in Toledo Ohio if you haven't. I hear they have the lowest prices and will ship bikes for really cheap. Some people on
SVRider.com have purchased bikes from there and had them shipped across the US for WAY less than MSRP.
The only reason I did not get one of those bikes is because I really don't feel like paying over a grand a year for insurance on a bike.

I thought about getting a 883 or 1200 Sportster but did not want to shell out that kind of $ for my first bike. One plus about the cruisers is the dirt cheap insurance. $219 for the 883 and around $300 a year for full coverage insurance. I took a friends 04 1200c out for a little ride and I loved the power that thing had. SE pipes, different carb and ignition is all perf mods that was done. I didn't like the big tall front wheel though, 21 incher I think.
Quote from: Ed_in_Az...my dream bike?
I'm riding it. :thumb:
I might want to pump up the engine later or change suspension or cosmetics, but the options are endless for HDs.
If you've got a dream bike, save up for it, finance it, just do it. Life is too short, but remember to ride sane or stay on the sidewalk.
Now if I was to get a 2nd bike, I'd like a SV650 to zip around on. 8) One little Cruiser and one little Sportbike would be about right for me.
Dream bike? Probably haven't been riding long enough to come up with my perfect dream bike just yet, but I know a couple out there that I just drool over.
Street fighters:
- Ducati Monster 620 Dark (http://www.ducati.com/bikes/my2005/ducatiModel.jhtml?family=monster&modelName=M620D-05): Just too damn super sexy.
- Suzuki SV650 (http://www.suzukicycles.com/products/SV650K5/Default.aspx): I like the unfairred a lot more than the S model.
- BMW K 1200 R (http://www.bmwmotorcycles.com/machine/models/model.jsp?model=k1200r): Menacing, sleek, and fast.
- MvAgusta Brutale GLADIO (http://www.mvagusta.com/_vti_g2_ver.aspx?IdVer=14&rpstry=27_): No explanation needed.
Sport bikes:
- Suzuki GSX-R600 (http://www.suzukicycles.com/Products/GSXR600K5/Default.aspx): Definitely in red/black. I dig the one headlight look.
- Honda F4i (http://powersports.honda.com/motorcycles/sport/model.asp?ModelName=CBR600F4i&ModelYear=2005&ModelId=CBR600F45): Sweet 600 sport bike that's also comfortable.
- MvAgusta F4 SPR (http://www.mvagusta.com/_vti_g2_ver.aspx?IdVer=10&rpstry=27_): Exotic of the exotics. This is the closest I can get to a "dream bike".
Man this post depresses me. Wish I could spend more money on toys like this. :thumb:

I saw that once in real life. I looked at the oil cooler the wrong way and it fell off.
as some of ya'll know, i've parted out my bike so pretty much any bike that RUNS WELL is my dream bike!
does anyone else like the aprilia rs250? two-stroke, mille r looks and weighs as much as a small watermelon? wish there were more of em and much cheaper... anyone else???
I change my mind on this subject constantly. There are a few common themes though, and chief among them is my multiple bike strategy, which results in the Dream Stable:
Commuter: Ducati Multistrada 620 (or Monster 620 in a pinch). Multistrada is weird, and I like it that way. Hard cases are $900. This could also be my touring bike.
Playbike: Triumph Bonneville black, stripped down to the bare necessities and cafe'd out better than the factory did with the thruxton. My local dealer did this, its on display, and gives me goosebumps.
Trackbike: Perhaps the GS, but more likely the Aprilia RS450 that doesn't yet exist, which is supposed to replace the RS250 with their v-twin superlight 4 stroke motocross engine. tasty, if it happens.
Touring bike: If the multistrada cant cut it (chain drive, I know) and the gf ever wants to come along, I'll be needing the new Triumph Sprint ST or a Ducati ST3.
I can't explain it, but the superexotic crazyfast trackbikes don't appeal to me at a high level.
I change my mind a lot too.
Today I am thinking Triumph Speed 4 in black.
personally I have my mind set on a 96-98' zx-7rr :thumb: There's just something about it that makes it say organism :nana: Realistically I could own one in the not to distance future...what good is a dream if you can't live it?
The SV1000 is a close second right along side the zx-9r and then Honda's 929
I really, really, really like the 2006 Boulevard M50.. :thumb: The blue one looks especially sharp. I think that is the only bike as of this writing I would seriously consider getting rid of my GS for.
hmmm......
well.....the sport rider in me wants either a gsxr750 or daytona 650
the relaxer in me wants either a v-max or breva 750
the tourer in me wants either dl1k (vstrom) or fjr1300
and the track star in me wants a C1 990.....
of course I don't think I'll be owning all of these anytime soon, that's why I bought an SV....
After getting my last issue of Playboy and seeing the Triumph Thruxton 900 it would be one of my top three choices. Old school looks, cafe racer style, hp around 70 and only around 8 grand.

BMW's K 1200 R is so hideous it's beautiful:

...and it can hit 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds. I wonder how many human beings can actually keep enough bike on the road to see it hit 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds?

There now.
Face the Power has a vid of the K1200S doing the Nurburgring in uner 8 minutes. It's a helluva ride.
