Title: Brakes
Post by: SheDevil18 on July 06, 2005, 09:40:54 AM
I bought a 2005 GS500F the 1st of May and I love it to death. My back brakes squeak really loud when I am coming to a stop. Any way I can fix this?

I think she needs her daily Titanium ... which will not fit in the dang drop box, and I need to drive it to work and mail it out when I am at work and make a run ... and I been riding the nitehawk everyday to work for 3 weeks straight ... sorry R'gal.
Cool.

seriously, maybe some worn out pads, they are not expensive and relatively easy to replace....

but being a 2005, I doubt they are worn out already, maybe some oil or grease on the pads???

On a related note, anyone have tips for improving brake feel that don't involve switching to a SS or kevlar line?  I just changed the fluid and bled both brakes a couple of weeks ago; front feels fine, rear feels mushy.  Makes it a little hard to tell how close I am to locking the rear up.

The mushy feel is either air in the line or the stock rubber lines themselves. But SS lines tend to lock up the rear faster.

Well, my '04 brakes squeaked from day 1 and still do.  I think we've all come to the conclusion that this is just one of the common traits of the GS. :dunno:
