So after unsuccessfully attempting to get my wife to use my GS, she decided that a 250 cruiser was the best option. Anyhow, I found a good deal on a Virago 250, so we picked it up today. I rode it back to our place.. about an hour ride. It was fun! Nothing like riding the GS or the CBR. Real *mellow*. Definitely not my type of ride, but fun none-the-less. BTW, I think the Harley riders passing me by on the way home were literally falling off their seats laughing. Oh well. Next time I'll try to show some leg...

haha nice bike, never been into cruisers much though
:thumb: she's gonna have fun on the cruiser, its a great starter.
i had a suzuki marauder 250 and don't regret it - gave me lots of confidence with its low center of gravity, comfy seat/seating position, light enough to be picked up easily if tipped over and small enough that it wasn't intimidating.

those small cruisers are a lot easier for shorter people to flat-foot. Should give her more confidence that she's not going to drop it.
Enjoy!
Cruisers are nice for what they are.
Yesterday I test drove a new 2004 Marauder 1600. OMG  When I got back I had to pry my sunglasses out of my skull :o . TORQUE from hell.
If cruisers handled a little better I would have got one.

Naa, its just hard to ride when you're sitting on that fat payment book. :)
They were either
A: bending down to pick up parts that had fallen off when they passed through earlier that day
or
B: trying to balance on the frame since the seat fell off 2 miles back..
Congrats to the wife! and a special congrats to YOU!!!!!
My wife and I both ride and it makes for the best marriage!
Nice! Still a pretty bike, IMO. Is Yamaha still making it with a fake rear exhaust pipe?

I agree that small cruisers are great for shorter people. I had a Savage 650 that I loved and it really built my confidence up. Then I moved to the GS which I like the riding position much better. Hope she enjoys her new bike!! :thumb:
nice ride :thumb:
Had a Virago250 at my MSF course and it was fun to toss around... very enjoyable.
