Title: Can you turn a new GS500F into the old naked style?
Post by: whatever7 on July 09, 2005, 07:15:29 PM
Hi first post here. :)

I am looking to buy my first bike and has been doing some research on the SV650.  However, I really can't get past the styling.  Someone pointed me to a naked GS500 and I said to myself this (http://www.suzukicycles.org/photos/GS/GS500E/2004_GS500E_black_450.jpg) is exactly what I want.

I understand there is no more naked version after 2004?  So if you take off the fairing of the GS500F will it look just like it?  To bad the frame (or is that the chassis, I am new to this stuff) is black on the newer version.  The silver frame like in the 2003 version (http://www.suzukicycles.org/photos/GS/GS500E/2003_GS500E_blue_side_450.jpg) would have looked so much better.

I checked the FAQ and it doesn't seem to have this topic.

Thanks for your input

you could...You would need to buy new mirrors and the headlight assembly and front turn signal brackets if that is not included in the headlight assembly.

They have new GS500e for sale in the dealer?  I didn't see it when I was at the Suzuki website.  I am going to check out the dealers tomorrow.

Do they sell it in Canada? I know they do in the UK..but if they sell the 2005 naked GS500's in canada why not drive up there and get one?

Or..what I wish I would have done..just buy a used, naked GS500/GS500e. Save a lot of money  :)

i got a better deal.  you buy the new bike and we'll trade parts.  you can have my headlight and brackets etc.  give me your uppercowling and the mainstay.  oh and mirrors.  plus you can sell the side fairings and get cash back.  omg im a genius.
