Post by: nicks11982 on July 11, 2005, 03:02:08 PM
Have you guys checked out the kick ass kit for the GS500 from aluiziomotos
I found it on one of the links on the GStwin page. check it out at this link: www.aluiziomotos.com.br/v3/En/PersonalizacoesDetalhe.asp?PERS_COD=PERS000018

I'll put up pictures after I install it. All this for only 1150.00 is awsome.

Has anyone else got one of these yet? The front kit is 850.00 and come with handelbars and everything (see parts list pic) the back end is an under the tail kit with a "hugger". for 250.00 and 50.00 shipping  And it come painted!!  :thumb:   :thumb:

watch out some have had trouble trying to fit it. But I'm sure they will tell you about it one of the guys had a lot of trouble fitting the undertaill section and if you look in the for sale section you will find a link to rear huggers for sale from another of the guys on the forum  :thumb:

Go spend $3000+ on a improperly manufactured fairing kit that does nothing performance wise to your bike, when you could use that $3000 to put a down on a gsxr6.

Yeah for you maybe it's not $3000 but here in Canada after shipping it came to $2800 that was the quote I got, but your still willing to pay $1150 on a gs when you have a brand new gixxer thats almost a turbo right there. But you know...go for it just cause it looks cool. And who says it won't fit right? JetSwing will! And it's all right here http://www.gstwins.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14505

I honestly don't know anyone that would own a gixxer 750 and a GS and choose the GS to spend over a gnote on over the gixxer, hey thats just my opinion though.

1150 ... OK a 04+ F entire set will fit the old GS ... and it costs under 700 ... OK ebay and other places to buy ... you may get ripped off ... and then you'd have to have someone cool like the srinath ... who BTW is not going to do one more ... fit it. And get this ... it has the 04 seat, tail light and tank ... IMHO the best parts ...
Cool.
Srinath.

But Srinny you're forgetting, the 04 F fairings aren't cool enough.
If I were honestly thinking about going through and buying a kit like that I would rather go to a salvage bike parts yard and do a gsxr conversion from the same year bike probably end up spending about the same but atleast its Suzuki quality parts and probably easier getting to fit than the alluizio kits. Now this has got me wanting to try a gsxr tail swap.

Don't count on the paint matching...  And if it does match they'll probably pack it in bubble plastic before it hardens (making nice polka-dots)..

I did the undertail and hugger, it was a lot of work, I had to have the parts repainted, and ditched the tail lights. But it looks good and there's few options when you're looking for an undertail. As for the front fairing did you check out this place? http://whaccessories.com/GS500Accessories.htm

That Gimble fairing looks pretty sharp!  And for those of you with an E model the solo seat is on sale at the top of the page!

The paint match.   eww..

The finished product.

I like the finished product, it was pain to get there but looking back it really wasn't that bad. When you get into this keep your expectations low and count on spending more than the price of the parts. I think if I knew how much I would like it when it was done it would have made the process a little less painful...

Your F looks way better all blue like that, much better overall apperance.  I agree 1100 on a fairing kit is plenty high, considering I only paid 1400 for my bike.

I got the whole kit for 850, and they didnt charge me any shipping or a customs charge.  Mine fit perfect - I think the trouble that some people had was fitting an undertail to an existing Suzuki OEM tail section... with the whole kit, you get an entire new back end, with no seems and fits like a glove...

the F fairing, tank and seat costs:
headlight cowling ($105)
windshield ($23)
headlight ($96)
side plastics (2 * $139 per side)
rear plastics (2 * $62 per side)
tank ($488)
seat ($87)

...or about $1200 at MrCycles.com.  Plus some welding fabrication to add brackets here and there.  It could be interesting if someone produced a set of bolt-on conversion brackets for $100.

how much power can  I honestly get out of the 500? we're just building 500 agaist each other I know I'll never beat the 1000R on a 500. That 1000R has too much damn power. I've been told it can kick a hybusa 1300 ass, but only if you can keep the front end on the ground. :guns:

You've been told wrong then is what I would say, maybe off the line but I doubt it once you max out that busa is commin flying past you almost double your max speed. I've seen a video where an r1 took a busa off the line but thats only cause the busa let him, once the r1 got up to top speed (198mph) the busa just flies past like nothin.

Hard to say with the last 2 years busas  Suzuki cut the top end in them in Aust the first 2 models popped out to between 305kmh to just over 310kmh depending which magazine you read but after 2003 they cut the top end to 299kmh so they wont reach 300 as Aust gets all full power bikes the same would be for the rest of the world but if you owned one of the earlier models its nice to say my 2001 model bike can whoop your 2005 model bike :thumb:

a 2005 kawasaki 10R has 158.6 BHP at 186 MPH a 2005 hyabusa has 160 horse at 183 mph.  I have heard alot of hyabusa riders say that the only bike they fear is the 10R. It's lighter than the hyabusa and a much shorter wheel base than the hyabusa with the same amount of power at the rear wheel. Plus niether can go over 190 with out modification due to the manufactuers limiting their speed so the goverment didn't do it for them. I'm tellin you if you can keep the front end down wich is a pain in the ass, it's gonna run right with or beat the hyabusa.
