I know I do ...
Cool.
Srinath.
Now that's funny. I would have went one step further. Put some clip on wings on the sides and see how far she would go....... :)
Ooh, and only 18 grand!
You think he'd take a '89 Gs500e as a trade?
The dash on it reminds me of the Delorean in Back To The Future. That alone is worth the 18 Gs.
I didnt see a "Flux Capacitor"
I think thats an urban legend and was proved false by mythbusters
$60,000 engines in a $5,000 car. Real smart.
Bet I would never be late to work in that!
LoL i saw that on another forum :)
I e-mailed the seller and he sent me two short clips of it running on the salt flats and what appers to be a closed runway. That thing screams :o
If anyone wants a copy I'll fwd it your way
send me the vids.
yeah, i would love to see the clips too.
i bet Insurence would be a REAL kick in the wallet.
And i remember hearings a story about a chevelle/Malibu using Rocket Assist Takeoff boosters, used them on Huge planes liek C130's and stuff, huge logistic suport aircraft and whatnot
The helicopters I worked on used T58-5 engines, which were TURBOSHAFT engines. The -3 should just be an earlier version of it. Not that much thrust there. :bs: So unless he has them hooked into the driveline, he's not going anywhere.

Don Garlits built a dragster using a T58-10, here's a link. It's the car on the top of the page.

I'm gonna start saving now...
I wonder how I'm going to get $18,500 in 2 days, 8 hours...
Donations accepted!

Yeah, I didn't quite get that either. Definately muchos negative points for the execution. Obviously somebody had a set of T58s burning a hole in their hangar floor.
I would have put a Rolls-Royce 250-C40B under the hood and left it at that. It would actually be streetable then. God, I love that little engine. Continuous 600 SHP with a 2.5 minute limit of about 715 SHP. All that in a 250lb package about the size of a kitchen garbage can. Only downside are the $24,000 service manuals. (not a joke)
I don't think there's a single helicopter/turboprop mechanic out there that doesn't think about what to do with those "orphan" engines in the back room. :dunno:
It looks like this isn't the first car this guy has built like this... Seems to have an obsession with turbines! ...
