Title: just got my katana shock...
Post by: drifter8844 on July 14, 2005, 07:26:33 PM
just got my katana shock in the mail today.  wondering "what does the black dial at the top (1-4) adjust?" :dunno:   Figured that the bottom dial (1-7) adjusts the pre-load.  also, how should i set it up based on my riding style?

Probably damping.

Leave everything where it is for now and go for a ride.

The dial is definitly for dampening. 1 is soft and 4 is hard. I have a Katana on mine. I ride with it on 2. Seems a good match for progressive springs and 15wt fork oil. If you still have the original springs in the forks I would replace those first with some from Progressive. I think I got them from Bike Bandit for about 50ish.
