Going around a right-hander from a stop, front wheel hit some sort of wet sludge that a dumptruck had trailed through the lane and the front end slid right out from under me. Bar end got scuffed, might have tweaked the handlebar just slightly, the rubber on the right footpeg got peeled a bit, and the Suzuki emblem on the right crankcase cover popped off and got bent up (those little pieces of tin go for a minimum of $15 total from the online parts guys :( ) That little cover got a couple of easily-mended scratches too.
I'll take responsibility for not seeing the sludge on the ground, and am thankful that nothing worse happened. My foot did slip in the sludge while I was trying to pick the bike back up, wrenching my knee, which was worse than anything that happened as I came off the bike. The gentleman in the car following me proceeding to slip and fall as he tried to help me pick up the bike too, so I didn't feel too bad. Eventually we found firm footing and got it picked up and wheeled over to the sidewalk, and I rode the bike home. I won't be riding for a few days at least though, my knee hurts like a son-of-a-b**** when I bend it. Guess that gives me time to work out my dragging front brake and put in my progressive springs :) :guns: And look for some boots with a grippier sole.

D'oh!
You might have "water on the knee." Hurts to bend and to straighten... Feels like your kneecap is going to explode if you bend it.
I hope you fix up and heal up fast.
Sorry to hear it man. Take care of that knee Jazz, they can give you problems later down the road. Get it checked if it gets worse.

+1
My knees get worse every year...
Hope you feel better, and I'll echo Stephen in getting that knee checked out, too, if it gets worse.
glad to hear you are ok.
hey chinox22x, your avatar is like... 1526 KB filesize... did you know?
A few weeks back my gs rolled forward on its kickstand at a gas station, and hit the side of my knee on the way down. It's hurt like a Buddha Loves You since. Off to the doctor I guess.
