Title: GSXR1100W pistons...will they fit?
Post by: ThiagoSB on July 20, 2005, 12:12:14 PM
Hello people, Im new here...just been reading every topic here about different pistons, and Im just wondering why not use suzuki's 1100w pistons, is there a reason for not use them?
It'll be used in a track bike, so, do you think they would be realiable?
I couldnt find the dimensions of the 1100w...but well, do someone know is this pistons would match a bored gs500 engine?

You need a 4 valve head cos its a 4 valve piston ... I believe they are 78-84mm right (depends on what year 1052, 1127, 1076 what) ... so maybe the 78's ... not the 84's ... and pins are different on those 1 mm larger isn't it ... 18mm vs the 17 on GS ...
Cool.

The easiest oversized pistons to obtain to use in the GS are 83-84 Kawasaki GPZ1100, 78mm. I have a motor with them in it. It is actually a 541 not a 547, miscalculated.

Not many options for a 2-valve head with pistons that have a 18mm wrist pin.
