Title: Does having a bike attract the opposite gender?
Post by: billyblackout on July 21, 2005, 03:22:44 PM
Ever since I start telling these girls I got a motocyco, instead of saying "how are you doing?" they say "how YOU doin'" and start making tongue swirlies and googlie eyes. Hmmm....

So my question is: Do bikes get you more attention from the opposite sex? What are your experiences?

It gets me more attention.  Doesn't seem to get me more dates.

I am a 24 year old guy, if that makes any difference.

Like Roadstergal, I've noticed it can get me more attention. I'll be in traffic and some cute girl the next lane over, or ahead of me, will be smiling or waving, or if a group of girls are on the street when I ride by, a lot of times they will wave, scream, whatever. Haha.  I am like -->

So it definitely is a way to get attention, And it also makes a great icebreaker. But for the record, most girls that I've actually dated and talked to, really are not that impressed. A couple of them want nothing to do with it; they don't want to even hear about it, let alone get turned on by it!  8)

So I think it is a good attention getter-ice breaker for sure. But it is no magic cure-all!

RoadsterGal-
If you look like your avatar, then I don't think having a motorcycle is going to help you find dates...

My fiance hates my bike to the point where she basically pretends that it doesn't exist.  So, the bike may, at times, actually be preventing me from getting the normal amount of attention.

Plus, I look like a bear on a tricycle, so girls out "in the wild" normally just snicker.  My fiance does enjoy that aspect of the bike

Well...  Hot chicks are about 20x hotter when they're getting on and off the bike...

Ugly chicks with nice bodies and full-face with tinted visors are about 100x hotter on a bike (with the helmet on).

Fat biker-mamas are just as hot on or off the bike, helmet or no...

Now...  Guitars make every chick hotter.

Only if a hot chick could play guitar on a motorcycle...  In a bikini...   :nana:

My girlfriend admits to my bike being part of the reason I first caught her eye.  Not the reason we're still together though.  She doesn't like the round headlight on the GS, but that doesn't matter because I love it.

Well...I attract attention from all races, species, and genders, but it's all about the ears.

These are mine:

So if you see some silly looking biker with spotted dog ears commuting along the peninsula on Hwy 101, that's me!  :P

I have to agree with the majority here.  I get WAY more attention from girls when I am on the bike.  For instance on the way back to work from break a couple of girls, who were behind me at a stop light, kept up with me then got beside me and the passenger stood through the sunroof and flahed me.  The driver simply waved with a kissy face.  As for dates, like stated above ice-breaker not a date maker.

I always thought nice cars were more attractive to girls. Back in the day I had a Turbo 280ZX that seemed to act as an aphrodisiac for certain females. I always thought it was an odd thing, but I wasn't really thinking too deeply about it during those days. I would just take the car out for a breakfast of high-octane gas after a night out.

I think maybe it's because a girl can relax in a car, but if she's inexperienced with cycles her adrenaline is going too strong for her to get in the mood cause she's afraid of leaning with the rider. Like some have said it's hit and miss.

well.....from my experiences......I really haven't seen any change in the amount of women that flock to me pre-bike to current.....perhaps that's because I'm at least 50 lbs overweight....and my mesh jacket hugs me kinda snug......

.....of course got to take into consideration that I'm on an SV.....which looks nice, but lets face it, it's no GSX-R or CBR with all the pretty graphics.....

.....either way, this is what I'll say.....getting a bike to get chicks (no offense meant), is like getting married to have sex, which is like (as I believe George Carlin put it) buying a 747 to get free peanuts....

Duh.  It's because you can make out/have sex in a car.  Awfully tough on a bike, especially in full gear.

Heh, that's not what I meant of course. I wasn't talking about the acutal act, just the conversation and so on.

BTW, having sex in a 280ZX would not be much better than trying to balance the act on a bike.

being tall and riding a bike is more effective than being short having a gutiar and a bike.

I've unfortunately found that I get MUCH more attention from the same sex.  Everywhere I go it seems guys stare at me, or start asking me questions about my bike.  I do also seem to get more attention from the ladies, but they don't just strip down and beg me to take their virginity, just cause I ride a motorcycle (although that would be kinda cool).  You still have to ask a girl out, to have a date.  I do think a lot of girls a intimidated by the bike.  For one thing bikers are bad-asses, or at least have that stereotype.  Not to mention the 'bikes are dangerous' thing, or just that fact that they have never been on a bike before.  Oh, well these are my thoughts on the matter.  I'm 24 and in college by the way.

And does anybody else notice how threads like this pop up ever month or so?

I attract some attention on the GS500, but I've got a bright yellow Speed Four that draws attention from everyone.  I'll be cruising around town and people will roll down their windows and stick their heads out at 45 mph to get a better look.  Kids will start bouncing around in their seats and waving.

I wear a full-face helmet with a clear visor and sunglasses underneath.  A few times I put those suction-cup devil horns on my helmet, and had my passenger put the suction-cup angel wings on the back of hers- that was pretty funny.

The reactions are pretty funny. All of a sudden, I'll hear a huge, deep-throated guffawing and *LMAO* from the car next to me when I pull up to a light. I look over, and there's always someone there laughing their head off and giving me a big  :thumb:.

I have a motorcycle, play guitar, and am tall.  Only that later has ever helped me.  As a matter of fact, I still get a bunch of crap from my old roommates who remember hearing me play my guitar for girls in my room at parties.  It may have only given me a slight bump.
I think girls appreciate the motorcycle in a "hey this guy is diverse" sort of way, but I doubt they are really excited about riding around on it with me all the time.

I feel like people can't even tell that I'm a girl on my bike in gear, but I don't really pay attention to other people when I'm riding b/c I know that would be the moment I drop my bike.  I don't know...I do remember being whistled at, at every red light down rt 9, by this nasty old guy in a beat up old van.  It was obnoxious and I wished my boyfriend was there the whole time. I enjoy his attention while riding

On another note, I remember him telling me that he rides during one of our first conversations, and I don't think it really made a difference in how much I liked him.  It was very exciting though when we would go riding on it during those first few months. (before I ever thought about getting my own)
