THis weekend I decided to finish what I had started before going to Carlisle only finaly reaching a point of no return for a missing part . So that Friday afternoon I had to completly dissassemble my bike put the stock OEM parts back on and what not. Then get up saturday and ride my bike 150miles to make it up there for the Carlisle ride which was completly worth the work, but kinda weary about driving a bike put together in a rush just hours before I left.....So last night I go out and finish my "project". I have completly re-done my 91 gs500E from top to bottom:
New fork seals and progressive springs
triple clamp bearings, swing arm bushings
150jets [w one washer 3turns out exactly FYI]
40pilots
K&N lunchbox
wileyco exhaust w/ non choker flange
brake pads and front brake line
new tires
fender elimination [amazing how gitty you can get w/ a power saw :o ]
front upper fairing
new paint
valve job
If you are reading this far down the list then you are apparently looking for a description of performance. I fired up the beast last night a little after midnight. I really must start these projects early in the day because after the sun set all the bugs fly right to your light source :guns: IT IS THROATY but almost silent at idle The more gas you give it the better the sound gets 8) They should have come from the factory like this. Honest I can see someone thinking that a Gs500F w/ a wileyco being completly stunded by the powerful sound this thing makes then they see a full fairing and are like what is that??? :nana: :nana: :nana: Then my neighbor comes out first gives me one of those looks but then I give it even more gas and he flips his face into a big smile ;) ya it's like that around here...
I don't know about RWHP but my very accurate butt-o-dyno says woooo-hooo. It is really noticable power increase from 4k-7k rpm's which is perfect because I remember the stock bike wanting to just bog down when your on the highway @6th gear you would have to shift down then up. I no longer have that problem. Just roll-on and the bike picks up it's self and scoots.
I highly recomend the wileyco If you can get your hands on one and then fabricate a flange. The hardest part about the flange would be having the tools at your usage [Srinith's it good but I think he's done making them]
I have a few sound files if anyone want to hear it pm me

Re: HP gain... I was SO hoping that RVertigo could get a dyno run yesterday, so we could compare '01+ stock and Wileyco on the same dyno on the same day. Argh.
you said in your other post you pulled 41? on the main site here I think they did a stock test run......shoot I don't really remember
The only one I'm familiar with is the pre-'01 V&H/K&N run (http://gstwin.com/dyno_run.htm). But it's always best to get comparisons that are right after each other on the same dyno, as there are small variances in dynos and variances in hp with changes in temp, humidity, etc.
