This is my first motorcycle. I got it last saturday, but I left for vacation the day after and so I'm not going to be able to ride for 2 weeks! :(
It is in near mint condition, has 3600 miles, has a vance and hines exhaust (and the decal on both sides which I think looks smokin).
What do you guys think of it? Any suggestions to make it better?

Looks great man! It is very clean, and the sticker matches the scheme of the bike, so leave that on there. Just get some sticky tires, and a rear hugger fender, and thats all I would do.

What's a rear hugger fender? I'm going to look it up right now. The tires I was going to change after I got really comfortable on the bike and I actually need to upgrade.(also so that I can feel the difference they make)

Bike looks great, but it's screaming out for some smaller mirrors. I like the black wheels...mine are white and I hate them.

About the mirrors, yeah they are big, but I like them. I might look around to see how some smaller sportier ones would look on it.

Well on your neon it doesn't look bad, but many that I've seen the neons are all beat up, old, and yeah ugly.

on most vehicles i tend not to like white wheels but on my gs i don't mind at all - probably because my bike is white too!

i just got my ignition advancer about two weeks ago off of ebay (from dgyver) and it is fan....tastic. Makes the gs much more responsive. By the way i have white wheels and love them thank you very much.

I'd start with the turn signals and handlebars. best things I did to my 2001.
the rear hugger has a function-it keeps crap off the rear shock extending its life.
bob broussard on here was making the ignition advancers for the cost of shipping (modifying your stocker actually). good upgrade. they are not made anymore. V&H is also the only pipe maker still making gs exhausts in the USA.
consider swapping the mirrors with sv650 round mirrors. they look better and are oem. same for the buell turn signals I did-oem (for harley at least) so they're bright.
enjoy the bike-great choice on first bike.
