Title: Propping the bike....

So i got my new tires in the mail and now i want to go have them put on... problem is that as far as i know bikes don't stand up too well without wheels and tires.  It would be simple if i were just taking the rear wheel off, i would just put it on the center stant... does anyone have any good ways/pictures of these ways to prop the bike up while the wheels are gone?

when i took my wheels off for new tires i first put the bike up on the center stand then took off the rear tire and put jackstands under the swing arm then took off the front tire. it balanced itself long enough for me to have the tires replaced. sorry i don't have any pics but it was a pretty easy and straight forward process
ps. if you don't have any jack stands you could probably shove anything big enough under there so that the bike balances. it is surpisingly well balanced over the center stand

Put the bike on the center stand, then put a jack stand (or suitable alternative) under the frame cross bar on the front.  You could also rest it on the exhaust crossover, but be sure it is cool, and protect the finish by putting a cloth or something on the stand.  I use this same method to get my tires off the floor during winter months.

I don't like to use the exhaust pipe to support the weight of the bike because it may cause the pipe to shift and you'll get an exhaust leak. I use a 13 and a 1/2 inch 2x4 underneath one of the crankcase bolts in the same area.
