Title: Sniff, garage is emptier
Post by: conradvr on August 03, 2005, 10:56:23 PM
Well, one of the side effects of having babies is the number of toys in the garage may dwindle.  Dropped the GS off at her new owners place last week - at least I know he will take good care of her.  (He is a mate so I will still get to see the GS every now and again)

Given the fact she had clocked up a whole 200km over the last 12 months we figured she was better off with someone who would ride her more often so she doesn't rust from standing.  Initially we bought her for my wife and she has been a great bike and I really enjoyed tinkering and tweaking with the odd ride to chase sportbikes' egos in the twisties :)

Thanks to all that helped when I needed it and I will drop in every now and again.  Long live the GS

Regards
Conrad

PS: The new owner will most probably be along in a short while, he has some more tweaks to do.
PSS: If you ever think of touring the GS really impressed us when she made it all the way from Brisbane to Hobart (Australia), about 3,000km each way.

Glad you enjoyed it while you did. Is the Steam and Anchor Pub still there? The Redback beer was the best!

Thanks Scratch, don't know the Steam & Ancor pub but do know the beer  :)

The new owner plans on fitting a sport pipe and the K&N pod filter I tried to use with the stock pipe, so he will most probably be after the instructions on how to rejet.

This has been one of the better boards I have frequented, more focus on riding than image and relatively safe fun over tool behaviour.  And a  great friendly place for newbies.

Cheers
Conrad

Yeh, the GS will be missed.  I am really enjoying fatherhood and it has affected me in ways I didn't imagine, so much so I am in the process of tapping back my career and workload. Kids do more than makes up for the bike loss, and whilst I still have the VFR the main thing we miss is going riding together - but this should only be a short term situation until the kids are old enough for the grandparents to babysit.

My daughter is 6 months old now and I have already been shopping for a rocking chair plus a bright and powerful double barrel shotgun - also started the saving fund to buy a private island for when the teens are approaching  ;)

Cheers

from a drunk 23 year  ol,d
bawawawawa, how long till she's 16? cause i could live in Srinath;s garage and he's in NC which is in the south, so it's leagel.
btw I recomend Mossberg's 500A easy to shoot, and with lots of practice more accrate than a hand gun.

Just send them to a college far away. It will only cost 5x as much.
