Concerning the manual cam chain tensioner shown on the FAQ page, does anybody know if this is available in France or the U.K.
secondly handlebar vibes, what's the cure. I seem to have tried most things..... Anyone got a solution please.

Do you have the stock handlebars with the stock barend vibration dampening weights?
Hi Scratch yes, stock "clip ons" (89 model)but there is no way of attaching weights, the ends are solid metal. I've filled the bars with sand, filled them with silicone, glued weights on as an experiment,, but they fell off of course. tried foam grips, mounted the bars on rubber but I still get pins and needles in the hands. The engine bolts are tight up etc and the engine is in balance. its a very high , tingling vibration. I rang uip the importers and they told me that the GS500 doesn"t vibrate!!!!!!!

Are the other end of the bars hollow? If so, I think someone put the bars on backwards and that's why you can't attach any barend weights. Srinath, and others, know more about these bars than I do, but I'll help as much as I can til they see this thread. Right, now I'm thinking of the Lockhart-Phillips barends, which will help, but if they don't you'll need something heavier (like the stock barends), or maybe go to CBR600 bars (they should still fit in the stock clamps). The only other thing that I can think of, is that they should be rubber mounted, but maybe the rubber under the top triple clamp has aged and hardened. Did you already replace those rubber parts?
Hi, thanks for taking time to try and help. The bars. They are waited at one end, filled about 1 inch and half along. But it doesn't seem heavy enough and obviously isn't , to do any good. I had a good look at them and it just may be that they have been damaged and sawn clean, but there is no threaded hole to take an aftermarket weight. I can see no eveidence of them being rubber mounted but Ill get in touch with the agent s and ask.
Anyway cheers I really should get a second hand pair in good condition, or at least have a look at someones . Perhaps someone on the site has a picture?????????? 89 model with clip ons anyone in original condition.
