Sorry for another one of "I just finished my MSF course" posts, but... I just finished my MSF course!!! Never ridden a bike other than two 20 minute dirtbike rides two weeks ago, so I figured the MSF BRC was the place for me. Tied for highest score in the class, and now I'm rearing to go!!! Was supposed to finish the deal with a guy who is selling a '96 GS500E tomorrow night, but I find out Friday that work is shipping me out of town all week.... :x ... now hopefully I'll get back to town early enough on Friday to get to the DMV to get my license... but I'll still have to wait until Monday to get the bike registered if I can even meet up with the guy this weekend to get it! My gear is all waiting by the door ready to go! Oh, the agony. BTW: I'm Matt from Bangor, Maine... I'll probably be hanging with you guys in the future. Thanks for letting me vent. Here is a picture of the 'soon to be mine' GS - 8.9k on 'er:

Congrats Matt. Really nice looking gs you're getting. You'll like it here. buncha clowns. Look around the rest of the site for loads of great info on maintenance and modifications, and my site (link below) has a bunch of stuff I collected through my own workings and the now long gone gstwin.com archives.
The '96 with the dark red paint and dark grey frame & wheels is definitely the best looking GS of all time :thumb:

Congrats on the MSF. That is a nice looking bike!!

Nice looking GS. It makes me GealouS.
Uh, tell your employer not to bother sending you out of town. You'll be too pre-occupied thinking about your bike to get any work done anyway.

Thanks for the warm welcome all!! Yes, sending me out of town wasn't a good idea... I try and work and all I think is "bike, bike, bike, bike..." Oh, and the worst part is they sent me to the best part of Maine down a long beautiful windy twisty mountain road!!!! Oh, the humanity!!!!
Congrats to you Matt, that bike looks like it is in really great shape. You are gonna have a blast on it.
