Title: CBR 600, bye bye GS
Post by: VersOne on August 07, 2005, 09:35:53 PM
Sold my beloved GS last week.

After nearly settling for a sv650s I just couldn't resist the inline four.
It's going to be a pretty big jump for me so I'm not about to go out there and prove anything. But it's very easy to ride, very smooth, I'm loving it so far

Thanks GStwin...everybody on this forum. Don't worry I plan on staying here, I will never stop learning and this is the best learning forum on the net because people here keep their ego at home.

PLEASE  can I stay?

Just keep an eye on that speedo, they are so easy to ride and so stable you may go faster than you think.
Nice bike.

I really like the lines of those F4is, with the exception of the pillion seat.  I'm sure there's someone out there that makes a solo cowl to hide it, though.

I'm getting ahead of myself on this one, but I can't decide which would work best for me as an upgrade in a year or two - a current-model SV, F4i, or FZ6.  Sad to say I do more commuting than anything else, so they're all overkill in one way or another.

not an f4i fan, they seem bulbous-y, i prefer smaller more cut looking bikes like 600rrs or 6rs/6rrs

Hopefully you have better luck with your Honda bike than we have had with our Honda car. 13000 miles on an 2004 and the AC feels like it barely works, antilock brakes don't work right, rear brakes smoke/overheat sometimes, just got an exhaust rattle, and now it starts and dies.  My wife and I have called and taken the car back to the dealer to get checked out and there response was....  AC works fine (it takes 4 minutes to blow cool air)  antilock brakes checked out ok (but while driving sometimes pedal goes to floor then feels like a jackhammer and you won't stop, rear brakes adjusted too tight twice aren't they self adjusting?, exhaust rattle they said they couldn't hear it, the reason for it starting and dying.....  bad gas?  This car has left a sour taste in our mouths and we will never own another Honda car again, and the guys at the dealer are a bunch of slobbering retards . I am sorry if this offends anybody but it is the kindest way of describing them

blazinjr, sorry about your bad experience with Honda. have you tried talking to people higher up than the local dealer? This usually brings better results.

My wife and I both have 8-9 year old Acura's and havent had a single problem with them at all. The cars are flawless. Exactly what we expected when we bought them new.

Take it to another dealer's service department, since it's under warranty.

Also, as Pantablo suggested, write a letter to Honda of America (they're in Marysville, hell you could stop in and Buddha Loves You if you live in Columbus) and complain about the problems you've had as well as the service you've received at whatever dealership has been servicing your car.

hey Alex, go stare at a kan-a-tuna for a while and you'll see how sleek the f4i looks.

Congrats on getting the F4i.  I picked up an '01 with 4400 miles and just can't ride it enough.  I did my first (accidental) wheelie yesterday and scared the crap out of myself.  The bike was revving at 7K rpm in first, and then I gave it full throttle.  The front end came up very slowly and continued to do so until I eased off the throttle.  I've felt the front go light before, but I've never had it come off the ground like that.  I think a combination of running in reserve and leaning a bit back might have had something to do with it.
