Okay the wierdest thing is going on with my bike. I changed the oil about 2 weeks ago and when i was riding it home i noticed a lack of power after riding it for about 10 minutes.
Initially it was fine but as i rode it more and more the power dropped above 6k..like it would struggle to go above it even at full throttle.
Today i ride the bike to hot java cafe..get some coffee and the bikes working beautifully. I decided to keep on riding after the coffee for about 20 minutes and then i realized the same thing was happening...it had a rough time going above 6k and just seemed out of power.
i stopped at a gas station to check the oil and i notice its watery as heck. I mean i've seen oil before and done plenty of oil changes but this stuff was really watery. When i held the dipstick even near the napkin the water would be sucked into the napkin..really quick. Also there was a lot of vapor billowing out of the engine when i removed the dipstick. When i was riding i also noticed all this smoke coming out of the engine. Initially i assumed it was some oil that had dropped on the exhaust from the oil change but 30 miles of riding should definately take care of it. I think its just vapor being forced out of the engine somehow.
So i'm going to change the oil tommorow...but i'm seriously worried as to what the heck is going on with the bike??
The compression was checked (by our resident guru davipu) about 3 weeks back and everything is fine about the engine.
Any ideas???
Second question... can a bad tank of gas do this..if it has water in it???

I had really watery oil in my GSX400 aftyer a petcock and float bowl leak caused 1/2 my fuel to seap into the oil sump.
It was pretty obvious though as the oil level was higher and smelled of petrol. How does your oil smell?

Apart from the vandalism possibility, the only other liquid of note on the bike is indeed Gas. Noticed any increased fuel consumption lately?
Change the oil and let us know what you find.
It seems that this is after the bike warms up. My guess is the oil is not able to handle the engine heat. It is breaking down. What weight oil did you use?
The other possiblity is that you getting fuel in the crankcase, while riding.
Either way change the oil...fast.
I don't quite understand how gasoline could get into your oil carter. Maybe it's vandalism. No need to mention you have to change it as soon as possible.

If you leave the bike on prime overnight (or have a knackered petcock)
the fuel fills the float bowls. If your float needles are worn then the fuel level rises into the carb body and down the throat of the engine. Even good float needles will let some through. It seeps past the valves (especially if one is open) and on past the oil rings as it's too watery for the rings to stop. From there it drips into the sump and presto, flamable, non lubricating oil.

yeah i'm going to change the oil this evening for sure. My best guess is vandalism or maybe a bad batch of oil (although i've never heard of such a thing). Two neighbors were complaining about a motorcycle being parked in "there" parking spot. Apparently people now have dibs on open, uncovered parking spots.
The oil is Chevron 10W-40 so it should be fine weight wise. I bought a case of 12 and i've used 2 batches already(this being the 2nd oil change) so who knows...
