Title: More fuel flow in Res than On?
Post by: Rema1000 on August 12, 2005, 07:13:18 PM
I was draining my tank into a gas can.  I turned the tank-mounted petcock open, and fuel flowed out both brass tubes.  However, the stream out one tube (I think it was the Res/PRI tube) was flowing much faster than the other.

Has anyone else noticed whether they get more fuel out one tube or the other?  Maybe my in-tank filter needs cleaning.

Probably cause reserve is lower in the tank.. more pressure on it. Just a guess

Agreed.  Think of filling a bucket with water and then poking two identical holes in the side, one above the other.  The stream from the lower hole should shoot a little farther. :)

Thanks!  You saved me from having to look through encyclopedias and physics textbooks to figure out where the drawing in my head came from! :thumb:
