Title: PR track day
Post by: Roadstergal on August 15, 2005, 05:10:56 PM
My 2nd bike day at PR. It was a hoot, and I really feel like I rode 10x better than I did the first time I was out. I finally got the left knee scraping.  Unfortunately, I had to leave early due to the heat; I didn't have other clothes to wear between sessions, and I discovered the drawback of a one-piece; no ability to take off just the jacket. Despite drinking loads of water, I overheated. I left after 4 sessions, when I felt like my mind was no longer focused sufficiently on the task of riding.

I can't wait for September, and I'll bring some clothes to wear between sessions so I can stay for longer. I also need to get new tires; the stockers on the SV are getting a little shredded.

NESBA, as before, put on a well-organized and fun day.

Short me.  Slammed bike.  A friend of mine took these two.

I've never seen a Bimota up close before.  It parked next to me in the paddock.  FZR-1000 engine.

This SV was ridiculously fast.  It's not the bike, it's the rider...

It costs nothing to try.  See the guy behind me in the jeans?  You can run two sessions as a Novice for free (led at a very moderate pace).

I try to amuse...

I got the Sidi Vertebra 2.  I dunno why, but the local place had a pair left over in 36... even the online places don't carry 36.   :P

Them's nice boots boss, but they's 'spensive :(  I couldn't convince myself to buy a pair, since I only ride street.  I'll pick up some race boots when/if I ride track days, meanwhile I'm waiting on my A*'s touring boots to show up.

Those are some sweet pics.  I like the ones from above and the couple where you knee is about an inch or two off the ground.  :thumb:  :thumb:

Pacific Raceways.  It's a teeny little track in Kent, WA.  But it has elevation changes and not much in the way of straights, so it's good as a technical track where HP doesn't gain you as much as it does at bigger tracks. :)
