Hmmm..
Sounds to me like.. Yea, umm.. I want to roll back my odometer ?
Just kidding.. I have no idea how :) hope you find out :thumb:
you can either unroll the crimp (looks crappy) or take like a hack saw and cut the plastic right behind it and then glue it back together.

And ask starwalt why that first image is missing. :?

I did some deleting of some images on my website photodump. Maxing out 10MB is not hard. If I remember correctly, the shot was just the rotating table with the clock sitting on it. The next photo shows the thing in use so the first seemed redundant.
I remember when 16K of memory in a PC was a lot...<sigh> :(
The idea is to just remove the
back edge of the metal crimp ring. Because like davipu said, bending and hammering would look bad.
After removal and subsequent cleaning, just dispose the back ring segment and use black RTV (silicone rubber) to remount the front (curved) segment crimp ring.
OIC - say no more. (Especially since the offending red X in that post is "no more". :) )
