Left work for lunch and never came back ;) Bought it, registered it, and got my license paperwork taken care of after taking the MSF course two weeks ago. Brought her home, checked the oil, wiped her down, and took my first ride!! Was absolutely grinning the whole 65 miles I drove (country roads)!!! Can't wait for Saturday when I can take 'er out again! Here are a couple of pics: '96 w/ 8900 miles. Oh, and for those that responded to my post regarding which to get the '96 or the '01 I was thinking about... the '01 sold before I could even go look at it, so '96 it is!! I am definitely hooked to motorcycling now. My experience is two times on a dirtbike for 20min a time a month ago, the MSF course, and today. I think the GS is going to be a great starter bike... enough umphh to 'git er done,' but easy enough to handle. Wow, 65 mph on a bike feels like you're going 130!!! Woo-hoo!! :thumb:

Way to go, nice lookin bike!!
looks like it's in great shape, congrats!
Hey! Welcome to the board! You got a nice lookin' bike there, too. Well done! Looks clean, and I like that windscreen.
Ride safe!
congradulations, looks like you got a pretty good one there, got all your gear?

Yeah, I bought a basic full face helmet (KBC TK- 8), Full leather jacket- Powertrip, and a nice pair of MotoGP Turn 4 Leather gloves. Just wearing jeans for now... shopping for a pair of overpants and MC specific boots right now (wearing nice heavy hiking boots for now).
Very nice! I dig that '96 Charcoal gray frame and wheels. That's the only year Suzki did that. Congrats!
Other than your minor electrical issue, the only improvement I could recommend is some case guards. Somebody scrapped up the right side engine case. Hey, it happens and for less than $40, you can make sure it never happens again.
This is another example where the NC F-15 style flyscreen works well on the GS. Some color combos make it look silly.
Great looking bike.... of course i'm biased to the red 96's looks the same as mine, minus the fairing plus a bra :thumb:
just to clarify that's a F-18 windshield.

Davipu, I'm truly humbled
I'm gonna go tell my friends "I got corrected by Davipu!!!" :thumb:
yeah... it's a windshield sorry
it's just slighty different.
sorry... i'm in a sarcastic mood today
forgive me?
I really like your GS. It is better than my POS. Have fun on it!!!
GREAT LOOKING BIKE!! Great pictures, too! Congratulations!
What?! That bike is extremely attractive... Good catch.
