Hey everyone,
So I'm in the process of adding the parts to the GS500 to take a passenger. I found a local place that had a chainguard, and bought some aftermarket passenger toepegs.
Anyway, the chain guard had some holes reinforced with steel where I suppose it bolts on. The swingarm, I believe is what you call it, doesn't have any holes in those places? Did I buy a GS500 chain guard, and if so, HOW does it attach???
Here's a picture of the guard, is it the real deal? I paid $40 for it (half of stealership price):

Thanks for any advice and help
James
Oh by the way, I should have shown the swingarm, here's that too:

yeah that looks like the right one. on the top side of the swingarm there should be some brackets that are welded on with threaded holes.
nevermind. they have been cut off.
it seems like the oem chainguard :dunno:...the swingarm yeah no installation brackets...weird :o
Damn! Really? You'd think they could have at least left one thing intact...
Anyone have a good picture of these brackets? If I get my buddy to weld new ones on, I'll want it as normal-looking as possible.

That's all right. people that think stickers make something what it isn't aren't very fond of you, either.
but if you put stickers on a car like that it is called rice. isn't it?

right
What if the sticker on his swingarm said "RICE TECH" instead of "RACE TECH" ?
I'd put the former on my bike, but not the latter!
That being said.... it is a pretty bike, *but* that GSXR sticker has got to go! It screams 'wanna-be', especially given that the gs500 is a good two steps below a GSXR.
gs500 -> katana -> gsxr
