Title: I Finally got a new vehicle
Post by: ashman on August 23, 2005, 09:30:09 AM
Well, it took me forever and a day but I finally replaced my old car (95 Merc Cougar) that my sister totalled. It took close to a month but I'm happy. I was trying to get a small SUV or a Toyota pickup but nothing came along so I went w/ a Honda.

I wanted a Civic for the MPG but w/ as much driving as I do needed something w/ room and comfort. So far I'm getting around 30 mpg so not 1/2 bad. Its a 2002 DX 5spd 2.3 ltr NON v-tech.  Manual everything, lol. The 17's arnt 1/2 bad they make it stand out some from the million other silver Accords.

I like it.  That's a good car.

If you're not towing, there's no reason to take the mileage hit on a pickup or SUV; there are a lot of roomy and comfy efficient sedans out there, and it looks like you got one.  :)

I might actually be doing some towing. The owners manual says the max is 1000lb ya'll think a light u-haul open air trailer w/ a 250cc cruiser and a scooter would exceed that? It would be used for towing once in a blue moon if that.

I dunno - does the weight of all three exceed 1000lbs?

U-haul open-air trailers are heavy buggers.  You might look into buying a cheap used lightweight dedicated motorcycle trailer; you can find good deals.  I know a guy who towed two bikes on a trailer with his E30 318, but it was a lightweight trailer.

Tow away!  You'll be fine.  Safety numbers are always set low.  I mean what's the worst that can happen?  Besides wrecking you bike, scooter, and new car.  Well, you could kill yourself, but is that really worse?

J/K

You should be fine.
