I am going to use a 150/ 60/17 or so.
I have heard that Perreli supersport / something is a good tire.
Any othe ideas?
I want something sticky, but not a race tire. (takes greater speed/friction to get up to operating temp)
Avon venom
Dunlop ....
Metzeler ....
Bridgestone .....
Michilin .....
There's a guy selling new Michelin Pilot Sports (replaced by Pilot Powers now) in 110/70/17 front and 150/60/17 rear on eBay for less than $200 shipped, don't remember the exact price. Run a search for "(gs 500*, gs500*) tires" and it should come up.
There's also a set of progressive springs for the GS on eBay going for $20 right now.
the bt014's are a good choice.
Yeah I'm happy with my BTs, they are the stock ones on my 05.

considering that they havent made the pilot sports this year, and that you can get the pilot powers for only about $10 more online why would anyone NOT buy pilot powers?
Pilot powers are the best tire I have had to date. I have used dunlop d208's (came on the 600rr) and they are crap. Then Metzeler M-1's-better but not super, pirelli diablos-very, very good tire, then michelin pilot powers-the best tire I have ever used. very grippy and reasonable wear considering the abuse I give them (more track miles than street miles).
I believe you can get them in 150 rears but not sure. I buy them from my local shop for $230/pr.
I have a pilot road on the front of the gs right now and have about a hundred miles on it and still havn't worn off the stupid little nubs.

I've got 500 miles on my Avon AzaroSTs and there are still nubs in the center of the rear tire :(
Those pilot sports are currently going with 0 bids for 129.99 a PAIR, and he has 40 sets available:

That's cheap tires if you have the wider rear wheel or are willing to pinch the 150 onto the stock wheel.
