Title: My new V&H exhaust on my F
Post by: stefman722 on August 25, 2005, 10:47:59 AM
Hey guys,

I wanted an exhaust for my F model so i decided i would try a slip-on from another bike and try my luck with it. Srinath told me that a slip-on for the 99-02 R6 will work, so i decided to try that, but the guy i bought it from didnt have it for the R6. This is the Vance & Hines s4 slip-on made for the yzf600r. I bought it and brought it to the local MC shop to have it installed. I have some mechanical skills, but have very little skills as a fabricator. I brought the pipe and it took them about 1 hour to get it on. So anyways, here are the pictures of it on the bike. I think it looks good, let me know what you guys think about it. I coulve had a Yoshimura slip-on for less then 10$ more, but i did not want it, as i wanted something different. Everyone where i live has a Yoshimura slip-on. So i thought id mix it up a bit. It sounds great, alot better then stock. Ill need to rejet it still. I think the MC shop did a great job installing it. He is the same guy that re-welded my stock can that had fell off if you guys remember from my trip to the states. haha.

Share ur thoughts.

Stefan.

looks good man, V&H sounds amazing and will drowned all other bikes and there exhuast ;) . PLus by just putting a slip on , on the bike, you dont have to worry about taking the entire exhuast off like you do with a V&H system when you change the oil.

That looks tight, they did a good job installing it. One thing I notice about the Wileyco, it's a very fat can... between it and the way I had to position the flange, it sticks out farther than the footpeg. Gotta be careful when lane-splitting...

The digicam you took the photos with should be able to take a small video clip with sound.

Thats pretty sweet.  I've actually been thinking about doing the same thing, I just wasn't sure of what exhaust would work.  If you don't mind me asking, how much did they charge to weld it on??

That is one of the best looking slip on's I've seen on a GS500F

very nice...but its welded on right? so not so much a slip on anymore. is it originally a slip on for the yzf and just welded right on? if so, do a separate write up, showing some close up pictures and maybe an exact amount of pipe you had to cut back from the muffler...so I can put it in the FAQ and leave it for all eternity, thereby granting you a manner of immortality...
