Title: I have a copy of the OEM manual- anyone need it?
Post by: rritterson on August 25, 2005, 07:43:51 PM
I got a copy of the OEM service manual for the GS that covers through the 05 model. If anyone needs a bit of info for it, feel free to PM me.

I'm thinking of scanning the whole thing to PDF and making it available. I don't want to screw the site out of a good source of revenue though, so I think I'd tell people to donate $3 to the site and then give them the link. Would anyone be interested in that?

no, i'm not charging people to download it. I'm asking people to make a donation. I'm not profiting off of the manual, and the site owners aren't involved with me.

Plus, the donation isn't even mandatory.

Not sure about this but if it's just the bike manual it could be ok.

The right to have a copy of an instruction manual for a video etc goes with the ownership of the device, so we should all have a right to the GS500 instruction manual.

If your talking about the GS500 Workshop manual however that is a very different matter.

I'd be up for it. I think it is a good idea. Of course there are always "moral police", but sometimes you gotta take a step back and look at what is moral. Proceed with what helps the most amount of people the most, while causing the least amount of grief. A few GS500 manuals to some GS enthusiasts isn't going to hurt anyone. It is no worse than making photocopies of sections of a book at a Library. I am sure we've all done that. Those of us that read anyway
