anyone else notice that other than this site, and ebay, there is nothing on the internet worth reading. its all crap
just like tv.
TV is pure evil, at least on the internet you can research interesting things, TV is just non-stop brainwashing advertising.

Mr Springsteen famously sung, 47 Channels and nothin' on. Now I have several hundred on Satellite I often feel the same way but the internet ! wow there has to be something out there, doesn't there . . . . . . ? ? surely, maybe, perhaps, please.......
I want to find something on the internet but can't. I want to read about Henry Van Brunt, an architect from the 1880's.
There is nothing of substance about him, and that is why the internet sucks.

I assume you caught the photo from the Kansas City Library site?

Looks like a nice guy, Henry does.... :)
They're not extensive, but I found a couple of interesting Van Brunt quotes in the article
An Historical Perspective of Kansas City's Twelfth Street Trafficway Viaduct: 1911-1915.
just eems like there is nothing but porn, ufo's, and news. not that I dont like all of the above it just gets old. like watching the same tv sow over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.
there was a comedian (cant rember who) that said "if they removed all the porn from the internet there would only be 1 site left and it would be called www.wheredtheporngo.com"

If you fancy random humor involving pop-culture icons and other random characters, check out The Conversatron (http://conversatron.com).
For nerdy funny quotes off of IRC conversations, check out Bash.org (http://www.bash.org). They very in quality, but if you go to the Top 100-200, there are some hilarious ones.
If you're a fan of syndicated-style comics that are comical yet have an involved story line, check out Sluggy Freelance (http://www.sluggy.com). Start from the beginning and sift your way through over 8 years of great comics.
Some more enjoyable stuff!

the problem with a little porn is that it's not a lot of porn.

Thanks Kerry. I hadn't seen the photo. The KCPL is at 10th and I live on 6th so I guess I need to walk over there and actually check out a book. I did read that article on the 12th street bridge. Interesting stuff.
The freakin' internet turns some people to the dark side...makes 'em forget about their family and they get obsessed with it. It's a pretty neat tool for research (if you can sort through all the crap) and I think it's ok for checking something like Advance Auto or or someplace to see what price and availability they have on an item. Other than that, I really wish the internet had never been invented. I know it's causing us problems on a scale I would have never dreamed. Love the GS, hate the internet (what kind of cultural diffusion is going on here anyway), but I love all you forum guys.
C........
Love you to mang!
I hate you all.
