So, I pulled over to look at a map and my sidestand gave way; fell over right on to the clutch lever and snapped it about where it comes in to the boot. I thought I could limp home shifting without the clutch, but I can't start it without the clutch, so. . . .
I looked at it and it seemed like if I had a new clutch lever, a socket wrench, and a pair of pliers I might be able to just pop out the old one and in with the new one. Could it really be that simple? Let me know what you think.

You just about summed it up, except for the clutch cable attachment to the lever. You will probably need to loosen the cable a little to allow slipping the crimped ball out of the lever. You may also need to deal with the clutch safety switch. That depends on which of the two types you have. The rubber/plastic boot covers the cable adjustment nut.
it's a '91. I do think that the safety switch will be an issue- how do I deal with it?
There are only two screws, at most, that hold it in. You may have a type that is more like a microswitch. That one only requires remounting.
