Title: Bypassing the frame mounted petcock
Post by: paternoster2012 on September 07, 2005, 05:55:59 PM
I eliminated the frame mounted petcock on my bike and need to know what to do with all the extra hoses
Im gonna cap the ON hose from the petcock and run the RES hose directly to the carbs

The overflow hose obviously just vents to someplace

but what should I do with the vacuum hose?
Cap that one as well?
Will that mess up the flow?

Any help would be appreciated
My bike has been apart since NOV and my project ran out of steam in march because of personal issues and I sold my 6R at the begining of August

Riding season is drawing to a close up in MI and I need to ride again before its too late

You can put the Reserve, and main feed into a "T", and then into the carbs.
As for the vacuum, cap it off.

I am from Clio, MI. ( near Flint )

Just make sure your float needles are good and close correctly or have a way to shut off the fuel to the carbs. I use a quick disconnect. It is PITA to try to operate the tank valve with a screwdriver, unless a arm is added to the valve.
