Title: Looking for Clip-On Handlebars...Sizes???
Post by: adunston on September 09, 2005, 04:05:31 PM
I'm looking to get some clip on handlebars for my 92 GS, and the company I'm looking at has the following sizes, which do I need?

34, 35, 36, 40, 50, and 54mm. There is also a 38mm x 1" option.

I want to keep all the factory controls, just change the bars. Will any of these work?

I don't have any stock GS forks around anymore, but I seem to recall the tube size is 37mm.

So if the stock bars are 37mm, will any of the above listed sizes work at all, or do I need to look for a different vendor. If so, who do you recommend? I need them to fit with the AirTech Titan kit.

First, the search function:

It's magical. Try it.

If you plan on keeping your headlight, then you will have to get an '89 top clamp and clip-ons, because normal clip-ons interfere with the headlight mounting brackets.

If you are taking the headlight off, can I buy it from you?

Thank you, as I am not completely incompetent, I have searched and am continuing to do so. However, I cannot find a concise answer that is fully pertinent to my question.

Suppose I scrap the idea of clip on's. Is there another effective solution for handlebars that will work with the Titan kit?

Yes you need the correct size.

Here you go.  http://www.pro-flo.com/proflo_clipons.htm

I used these on my race GS when it had the stock forks.  They worked well.

I don't need them anymore for obvious reasons.

Thank you very much! That looks like it's exactly what I need!

Do you still have them, and if so would you consider selling them?

Adunston, does the Titan kit replace the front headlight? If it does, please let me know. Also, let's see some pictures!  :thumb:

I haven't installed the kit yet, but it does use the factory headlight, there is no replacement. As soon as I get it all together and painted, I'll be more than happy to post pics.

Here are some pics of another member's gs with the titan fairing. I hope mine looks as good when I'm finished.
