Title: Software
Post by: cernunos on September 10, 2005, 09:16:54 AM
Just wondering, does anybody know of any good software for logging what your kids are typing while on the internet? I'm starting to get worried about some of the things my kids are doing on the net...and I can't watch them all the time of course. Love the Baby GS, not the internet (good tool but causes problems), love this forum.

C.......

I used a keylogger some years back, but I can't remember what the name was.  If you google for keylogger, though, you'll come up with sundry options.  You might also run the search on download.com.

are you trying to monitor what site they are visiting? or monitor their chat activities?

also, if they have their own computers, they might be able to get around monitoring software...?

i forgot the software name.. i will find it and post about it. YOur kids wont find it unless they go to the add remove software. I believe the PRO version doesnt show up on the add remove programs because it replaces something in the OS. But that's a 400 dollar software.

spector pro is great I use it on allthe kids pc.  it copies all emails, chat, Im, logs keystorkes, and takes screen snap shots.  it all runs in the background without them knowing and can email you the files a couple times a day.  it can alsobe set up to only log certain users on the pc.  its a bit expensive but works great (I think I paid about $45).  it can also be installed remotely if you have a separeted pc on the network.

i would be very pissed off if my spy/virus checking software did not detect something like that

I used spector Pro at an old work place to monitor the new guy who we suspected of corporate looting.. it works.. wish i could remember what the other software was.. it was for enterprise stuff.

But Spector Pro is really awesome.. i suggest you get it. Only thing make sure you got enough amount of licences.. it checks with the server to make sure the licence count is set.

The keylogger and discreet screen shots and viewing of screen is worth it in al.. Email logger is very useful. We were able to use all of that.

Wll C, I don't know if you're checking back on your thread, but here's a link to a FREE keylogging program. Free is always better right?

http://www.tucows.com/preview/376270

I'll PM you with it too.

You can remove stuff from Add/Remove using tweakUI.
