So I get to work yesterday to discover that all but 2 of our overtime hrs are going to be cut. About 2 months ago, they changed the pay period to coordinate it with all of the other work sites. In doing so we got 2 more hrs of overtime. Well now the devils have decided that they can't afford that so they are changing our work week so we lose what we were getting before bastard. So all tallied up I will be losing 180 bucks a check. Bastards!!!!! :guns: :guns: :guns: :guns: :guns: :guns: :guns:
Steal a stapler and burn something down.
Always makes a guy feel *right* in the morning.
Hafta agree...employers in general suck...
Sorry to hear that; that sucks! You don't by chance work for Securitas do you? If so, been there done that and had friends that have as well.
Last time my job pissed me off and screwed me out of money, I went in the kitchen and ate a crapload of their cookies. I figured, that oughta teach'em to frock with me
Ha I do work for Securitas. Anything I should know???
uh oh :o , i just interviewed with securitas last week. maybe not such a good idea?
Haha, I think I stirred the pot :o I havn't worked contact security in a few years. I actually worked for a company that was bought out by Securitas though college. Since they are managed regionally, I assume the problems we had were mostly due to our local guys rather than on a corporate level.
Our main problem was overtime. They refused to hire anyone, and the FT guys ended up getting coherced into working between 60 and 80 hours a week. Part time guys typically worked 40+. I was hired part time but there were many times I had to work a good 50+ hour work week, ON TOP of full time college. A lot considering I was hired for weekend overnights.
Another thing was the dispute resolution. I never had any problems with it, but a friend of mine ended up getting fired for BS reasons from Securitas. There is no real fair way for arbitration style grievances, the boss's had a problem with him and they basically pushed him out because they could. Even going to a higher level did not work because the administration basically stuck together and looked at the gaurds as "dispensible" and "a dime a dozen".
A lot of our guys quit because promotional opportunities would go to friends (and sometimes relatives) of important people. I didn't particular care because I wasn't in it for life, but I hated seeing nepotism!
So I had some positive experiences, but I know a few guys that have had some bad experiences. But like I say, it is probably just a regional/local problem more than a corporate problem. Let's hope so
i'm not planning on making a life long career out of it, so i might be ok, i'll keep posting if anything odd happens. thanks for the info.
It probably is a local problem. We constantly have a problem with our checks being short. The site supervisor blames it on the local office and the local office blames it on the site supervisor. Personally I think as do others that the site supervisor is an idiot. He threaten to quit from his route guard position and they promote him to site supervisor, WTF? Basically he doesn't know much cause he doesn't know what anyone but a route guard does. I don't know who's duck he is su@#$%& but he constantly lies and screws up but he is still here. So basically if you are a stupid lying MF you get promoted here but if you are an intelligent college educated person you just get reemed in the a$$. Hell I don't know anymore these days???

Mine is quite good... at this point, of course, I'm just happy to have one.
RG, glad your employers don't suck at least someone has a good employer. BTW no date tonight????
My maybe-sorta indeterminate boy isn't in town.
oh well i bet the rat bike listens just as well as he does!!!!
Funny, my GS never directly told me how much it appreciates having me specifically as a mate...maybe my ex was slightly out of it?
I'm never in doubt as to how my bikes feel about me. They're not demonstrative, but they're always there.
That's a good point, they could leave, I suppose.
I leave mine out in the cold every morning, finally washed it today after 2 wks of riding through the early morning fog then getting dusted on sitting at school.
Since I am now hijacking my own thread...... my bike has to share the garage with a kawi ninja and a vstrom. The kawi usually picks on him but the v usually sticks up for his suzuki brother. The v has been at the shop for awhile so the the kawi started to run his mouth. But ever since the kawi's chain broke the gs has ruled and has been very happy!!!!!
heh in phoenix i worked for pinkerton, (owned by securitas)?, my last day there, only things i did not do at work were get drunk or /high, well last day there i as drunk as hell lol
yes pinkerton was bought by securitas
Burns International Security Services was bought by Securitas as well, if I have my facts straight. Securitas is like this huge contact Security empire.
Ay others left? We have Wackenhut and Morse around here. I think they are still independant, as far as I know. :dunno:
What ajgs - I thought you worked for whoever made cialis ...
Wackenhut clowns are morons though, or atleast the ones that dont want my bike parked in their parking lot ...
Cool.
Srinath.
I would call the US Dept of Labor to ask if what this company is doing is legal. It sounds very suspect because changing a pay period should not change your hours all that much
There should be that famous poster in your office somewhere with numbers to call. I found a number on the US site you can try
1-866-4-USWAGE

70 Cam Guy thanks for the info and srinath I do work for them it is a contrator thingy
I have a Securitas shirt, does that count? I sold them about 300k worth of camcorders one time, they gave me a shirt. I had to deliver them to NYC from Richmond on a Friday, they needed them Saturday morning.
Well that is nicer than they have ever been to me. Personally I would burn the shirt.
