on my dad's 90 CBR, he has a hook that pops out and you can hang you helmet on it and lock it in place. I was surprised to find my 97 gs500e lacked this option. I want to ride my bike to school, and since my locker is really small, I have nowhere to keep my helmet. Any creative solutions to this problem?
The helmet hoioks are under the seat; they're not fancy, but they work. Remove the seat and you'll find them pretty quickly.
is there one on the 04 gs 500f?? cuz i cant find mine either
Like nogs5yet said, they are under the seat on the left hand side. You hook your helmet's D ring onto it, then close the seat over the strap.

Huh, didn't know my '96 had a hook either, can't wait to get home and take a look!
I don't know if the older body style has them, but would be interested in finding out. If you've got a camera, take pictures!
wow fast response thanks a million. i just got this thing three days ago
I don't have access to a camera or my bike right now, but here's a pic from when i did the tail light integration. I circled the hooks, and you can see the passenger footpegs as a point of reference.

Well, looks like I'm ridding my bike to school
Thanks
I don't know if I'd trust my helmet on the helmet hooks anyways. I always just carry my helmet around with me if I go to a store or something like that.
I'll be, hooks are there:

As far as leaving your helmet on there... guess it depends on where you live and how nice it is, I leave mine on the handlebars a lot of times... although I live in Maine and my helmet only cost $100... if it was a $500 one, that baby wouldn't leave my sight!! My jacket and gloves always come with me.
No doubt. But even though I would never leave my coat and gloves sitting unattended on my bike, I really hate shopping in them. I can lose the gloves and bandanna and stash them in the helmet, but the coat is big and heavy, so I'd rather wear than carry it. But BOY do I ever get hot. Nothing like sweating while in Safeway; that'll get some clerks to keep an eye on you.
