hmm... if anyone else is giving away free motorcycles, let me know... I've got access to the machine shop here... it could be a good learning experience for me... not to threadjack though, hurry up and let's see pics of the new bike... for me to drool over, since I have none of my own...
Title: Xs
Post by: The Buddha on September 14, 2005, 08:52:52 AM
Aaaah the ole XS 650 eh ... Mine is sold, but I can tell you a thing or 2 ... they are surprisingly quick (mine was 82 heritage special) and it vibrates like a MOFO ... Yea light bulbs, whole headlight housings, dash, guages, battery, tank, relays tacked to the side sub frame with grommets, T/S'es all of those are considered perishables ... If its not bolted into the frame or welded on, its likely to fall off ...  :x  ... having said that, it will run like a beast ... easily out gunning the GS and other little bikes like skeeters in the 0-60 range ... BTW there is a couple companies making flat track stuff for it ... and OH yea ... you may not think so ... but the left 1/2 of the air box and right 1/2 have this oval plastic bridge sorta thing ... if you leave that out ... its like dropping in K&N pods in a bike ... huge air flow ...
BTW you might have seen ... the dash has no internal lights ... the T/S'es that are old harley items fit on the handle bar and they drop just enough light as running lights on the guages so you see it at night ... great idea I thought ...
Cool.
Srinath.

Holy crap. That looks like what we have in our garage. We have 3 Honda CBXs in various bits and pieces in our garage, wheels, frames, engines (that engine is HUGE), as well as so much other crap.
