Been a long time since I posted on this board- was a whole different interface.
I have a '96 GS500 with very few miles (~1500 or so). After not riding it for a couple years, I pulled it out of storage in spring, drained the tank and carbs, changed the oil, got a new battery, installed fresh plugs, and it started. It ran poorly, but it was okay. Now it will start, but only run with the choke on, even once warmed up. Probably clogged jets or something else in the carbs that shouldn't be there.
I suck at carburetors, but figured I would find some time over the summer to figure it out. Well, I also started a new job in spring that has kept me very busy, now it is September, and I never got around to working on it. So, at this point I just want to pay someone to sort it out for me, and make my bike healthy and rideable again.
Can anyone suggest a good mechanic in the Bay Area? I live and work in Burlingame. The closer to home, the better since I have to figure out how to transport the non-running bike to the shop.
Alternatively, if anyone in the area is good at carbs and wants to take on a job, I'd consider that too.
