They made it official this week. This is one sexy machine. Not a beginner bike but a good bike for someone to graduate to. The UK publication Bike Magazine ran a 32 page special on the bike and they called it the "bike of the decade." They had the opportunity to test the bike and even ran a comparison test. What is amazing is how they spoke so foundly of the new Triumph (especially since they've murdered Triumph in the past, especially on the TT600).
Here are the estimated figures:
123 hp
53 ft/lb of torque
363 lbs. wet
The article also mentioned that it's the narrowest 600cc bike too. For your veiwing pleasure.

To give a general idea of seating position, here is a spyshot of the pre-production model:

Sweet! I might have to take a look at that. I might be getting a big check from my insurance company since my Ducati got hit by a truck, stuck under the bumper, and dragged for 15 feet.
Ouch....your poor Duc! What a terrible end for a beautiful machine!
I'm thinking of getting a monster for my next bike.

Yeow ... I didn't see your post at all ... or did you even post ... but sounds bad, you fine ??
Cool.
Srinath.
Yeah, I'm fine thanks. I wasn't on it. I didn't post about it here. But hey, I'll threadjack now. It was parked on the street, a delivery truck pulled up really close to it and did his delivery. I guess he forgot he pulled up next to a motorcycle when he got back into his truck. Grrr. He called the police himself, and waited. But I just felt sick when I came back and saw my smashed up Monster. It was a gorgeous bike, and the engine was just getting broken in.
You know that 675 is going to be mighty comfortable compared to the other 600 sport bikes. I think I'd much rather buy the Triumph over other 600s. I prefer the 2005 model's styling, though.
