Can you swap in a GS500 engine?

not really the exhaust ports are straight forward from the head and would hit the brestbone of the 450 frame, the 450 engine has ports angled out that would hit the twin spars of the 500 frame.  the shift drum is reversed as the 450 faces oposite the 500 with the diff foot position. the bottom end minus the front sproket shaft (all trany gears are same as 500) shift drum, and ignition trigger is the same as the 500. ive got a 450 crank in my 500 now. the cyl, pistons and head are all diff.  dont know about the cams, the shims and buckets are the same. ive got a complete 450 engine here that i was thinking of reserecting perhaps stuffing it into a Quad

If you used the GS450 heads you could probably do it - with the GS500 heads - no.
