Title: Ex-GS Rider checks out the new GSF
Post by: ejl10 on September 16, 2005, 08:36:31 AM
Just wanted to drop in and say hello.  I had my 93 GS from the summer of 01 until I got my 02 SV650S last summer, and loved it the whole time.  This forum was an absolute blessing - as much as I like the SVRider.com board, this one always seemed more active and interesting.  And Srinath (I assume he's still around) is a genius with these things.

Anyhow, yesterday I stopped into the dealer for the first time in what seems like forever, and saw the GSF in person.  I really liked it!  The lines are clean and aggressive, the seat actually felt comfortable, and the bike felt bigger... like it might not look out of place next to the other bikes in parking lots.  The fairing is nice, and it looks like it could be removed fairly easily for the learning period - which is good.  I also noticed the oil cooler, which would have been very nice on the old GS and is probably necessary with the fairing.  Only the handlebar seemed out of place... it seemed a lot wider than I remember.  I'd hope that the fairing doesn't cause problems with flat and drag bars...

Anyhow, just wanted to say how pleased I was that Suzuki did a nice job with the upgrade.  For a while we all though the 500 line was doomed!

Good luck all, and enjoy your bikes!

Yea still round ...
The bars for a 04 have to be different (atleast the ones I make) ... In fact the bars that will fit an SV work fine for the GSF ...
Cool.
Srinath.
