Title: Clip-Ons...can you explain this to a noob?
Post by: osu1177 on September 18, 2005, 03:02:37 PM
Ok i know what they are basically, its something with the handlebars that put the rider in a more aggresive riding position....but unfortunatly im unable to visualize how this happens.

can anyone explain this to me? or better yet, post pictures of the same bike with and without clip-ons?

i might buy an 89 gstwin soon and want to know why its special....

thanks!

Well 89 clip on's aren't true clip-on's ... tarzan boy ... post your triple ... screw that monster ... in any case replacements albeit easy to make ... cannot be bought off the shelf ... you need to send some $$ ($15 to 20) the GS guru way ... and he'll bless some tubes for ya in case you need em ... anyway ... yea the 89 ones are great. ture clip on's sorta dont work great on a street GS ...
Cool.
Srinath.

I thought this was the part where we found out about the new batch of 2 welds from Srinath!

An 89 is special because it's a GS500.

The stock handlebars on the GS are way too wide. I'd like bars that give me a slightly more aggressive position, as well as being...not as wide...

Where should I look?
