Title: Question for those living in Southern California / LA area..
Post by: Purplenurse on September 20, 2005, 05:54:08 PM
I've been hearing about discount wherehouse's for motorcycle gear and such. Does anyone out in GStwin land know of any of these? I had heard that MC stuff is a bit cheaper there than here is Northern California.
My husband and I are looking for more gear as well as luggage for my GS500 and his SV650. Thanks ahead of time for any input.

Have you been to Road Rider in San Jose?  Their prices seem pretty good.  Better than a lot of online places.  They have a really good selection too.

I buy all of my stuff from Terra Power Sports (http://www.terra-powersports.com/). They're right out there in City of Industry. Usually I'll just order online just because it gets to me in a day, but sometimes their in-store prices are cheaper. :thumb:

Santa Clara Cycle Accessories on El Camino, between Wolf and Lawrence. 730 0600 best prices. If you talk to Doug, tell him 'scratch' sent ya (if he remembers me, otherwise 'Tim, on the purple GS').
And, Road Rider is good, on Monterey Rd., off Curtner (and 87), past the cemetary.

Thanks for the input! Sorry I didn't respond earlier. I'm in my last semetser of nursing school and have been very occupied looking up research articles and such.

We've gone to Road rider and Santa Clara Cycle. They are great. I actually was at SCCa couple of weeks ago getting the hubby's tire replaced. My husband wanted me to check because we've had people tell us that there were discount wherehouses in SoCAL.

We are in the process of looking at the budget and seeing what is a priority purchase and go from there.

Scratch, our bikes are probably twins. Purple twins!  You'll know it's me out there if you see a sticker on the back with a purple Cheshire Cat on it.
The sticker with him on it says "Now You See Me!"

Thanks again!

Chaparral is cool if you don't mind driving all the way out to BFE. Another place I'll check out every once in a while when Terra doesn't have what I want is Bert's Mega Mall.
