Title: Yamaha's Dual purpose TW
Post by: VTNewb on September 20, 2005, 06:07:22 PM
Look at the sheer size of that rear tire  :?

I'd ride that beast.

Almost like a chopper tire. :)

I thought they used skinny tires on off-roaders for a reason...

They use those in the MSF course in IL.  Pretty fun to ride, but really jerky clutches.  Many had trouble doing the box on the TW's.  I didn't get the do the course on the TW though.  I got to pop the cherry of a brand new Rebel 250.  WooHoo!

That thing is hideous!  It looks like a tiny moguloid dirtbike with a tractor tire on the back.

I want one! :)

That would be fun as all get out, with all the dirt road and logging roads around here in South GA.  Not to mention the looks I'd get commuting to school on it. :thumb:

You could have some real fun riding in the dunes on that thing.

Just have to be careful not to break your coccyx in the process.

There's a lot about Grandma you don't know.

The whole dual purpose thing doesn't really get me going.  I do like the new BMW HP2.  That is pretty wild, but at $20K?  Not that wild.

That tire isn't broad and flat, like a chopper tire.  It's got tread all of the way up the side while still having a skinny footprint; it'd be great in deep mud.

OK, it goes on the B-day list. :)

I am seriously considering replacing my totalled gs with a dual sport.  the drz400sm is calling me I think...

I don't need to go fast, I don't do long trips either.  I sometimes wish I had a dirt bike or atv for trail riding and camping, but i would like to have a bike to commute a short distance to work.  A street-legal dual sport seems to be the right answer for me.

I'm a little tippytoe on the DRZ200.

Just a little lower than the DRZ200.  It's normally too high for me, but with a bike that narrow and that light, I can do it.  OK, I'll take one.

There's a Fatburger down the street from me.  I need to take a pic in front of it.

If I didn't already have a dirt bike I'd love that TW. I deal with mud so often those ties would rock. Hell, it could play in the snow!

I like it....a lot.  It would be great for romping through the forrests on the acres that my friend owns up in fredericksburg.

Of course not!

And it's not all about the size of the rear tire, either.
