Post by: bargovic on September 23, 2005, 08:53:26 AM
anyone know a good site to get tank bags or saddle bags that fit the 05 gs(f)? And how do they hook to the bike on the hemet strap hooks?

I also just broke my face sheild to a Fulmer helmet, but since fulmers are only really sold in the dealers.. anyone know any websites for fulmer accessories?

ha, please dont tell me ebay.

There are 1001 threads on luggage, many tank bag recomendations. Also lots on saddle bags and "pannier" style luggage, try a search. I always advise caution with tail-packs, you need to be carefull with them, accidents have been caused by them getting into the rear wheel.

I just go this one (the Nelson Rigg CL-300), but until I got it I had never heard of it. But it was cheap and it seems good. It's my first bag so I don't have any comparison for it. http://www.extragear1.com/get_item_cl300_nelson-rigg-cl-300-mini-magnetic-tail-pack.htm
The dimesions are  11"L X 5"H X 9W"

The other I was thinking of is the Tour Master, but everytime I thought of buying it my wallet said hell no for that little tiny bag.  Even at New Enough it was pretty expensive at 72. http://www.newenough.com./tour_master_cortech_mini_magnetic_tank_bag_page.htm
The dimesions for this one are 11.5" (l) x 8" (w) x 5" (h)

My math skills suck, but can someone figure out which one is bigger by those dimensions I listed. According to my screwed up the the much cheaper bag is bigger.  :dunno:

But either way I like it and for a few bucks more than the Joe Rocket Manta bag it's way bigger than that. There plenty of magnets on this bag as well and it holds pretty sturdy. I took it on the canyons and freeway driving without any problems.

Weird thing is, I can't seem to find a better picture of that CL-300. I wonder if it's discontinued or too new.  :dunno: The picture I posted before is pretty close, except for the flaps. My flaps are similar to the ones on this CL-350. http://www.amcmotorcycles.com/index.html?lang=en-uk&target=d145.html The pic above doesn't show that clearly. I might have to take a pic for you guys of the bag on my bike if you really want.

yeah it works really well for that and your cell phone. I can look down at a stoplight and see the time. I really miss not knowing the time when im riding or if I'm missed a call.

One thing I should note. And this might be a negative, but I don't know. You know how it has flaps right. Well once you take them off you fold them under and it attaches to the magnets in the bag underneath. It's a really tight fit, and when I bought it, they had a small piece of cardboard there, but I threw it away. So to get to my point. I noticed that when I remove to attach to the bike, I have to pull kinda hard and it really pulls on the material. I'm wondering after many many repeated pullings apart, if the material underneath will tear.  :dunno: Just something to keep an eye on, but none that I feel is a major negative. I could get a small piece of cardboard to put between there if it really starts to bother me and then put the two pieces of cardboard in the bag when the bag is attached to the bike.
